• Gigazad represents an opportunity for the Service Provider to earn additional revenues from their Subscriber base through the sales of advertising over Wi-Fi hotspots operated by their business customers.
• We provide an opportunity to offer a managed WiFi service to large organizations, e.g. Starbucks, which would be highly professional in appearance, with full-page ads or messages being displayed at preset intervals on patrons’ PC/PDA screens. Message content could consist of specials, career opportunities, community events as a public service, etc. This service would provide consistency of content and appearance across all locations. There are large fast food organizations that have not currently adopted WiFi as a corporate strategy but have individual locations providing it in an adhoc manner.
• Our technology is client – server based. We are capable of functioning on a number of wireless routers including inexpensive and highly reliable Linksys routers. We equip them with our proprietary software, to implement the service. (We have applied for a patent on the method used.)
• We provide cost advantages over other offerings through the elimination of the backhauling of data for ad insertion by a central computer.
• We have the ability to insert full-page interstitial advertisements, at preset intervals, on PC or PDA screens, over the Internet, with click-through to advertisers’ websites.
• The process is very unobtrusive. We do not insert any software on the user’s PC or PDA, which alleviates some of the security concerns with other technologies.
• It has been proven by more than 2 years of in-service operation with tens of thousands of users in Western Canada and Washington State.
• It has many technological advantages that include proprietor control of access during busy hours, (in those locations where it might be required), as well as configurable port and URL blocking to control bandwidth consuming applications such as Bit Torrent, You Tube and Hulu, if desired.
• We are currently in technology trials with ISPs in Canada. They are exploring the use of our technology as an application in conjunction with their Internet access.
